Tarsar Marsar Trek, Kashmir

❄ Description

Kashmir has its own unique experience of trekking in its region. Tarsar Marsar is a less explored trek usually done in summers . The trek comprises of exploring of two high altitude alpine lakes, viz, Tarsar and Marsar lakes situated at an altitude of 12500 ft. Other than this, the trail is brimmed with green meadows, pristine rivers and enchanting mountains and valleys in Dachigam National Park. Trekking along the lakes with lucid blue sky gives an amazing view and the chance to camp next to the emerald blue lake of Tarsar.

❄ Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

  • Day : 1 Srinagar – Pahalgam

    Meet and greet on arrival at Srinagar airport and proceed for Pahalgam (4-5hrs). Reach Pahalgam and check into the hotel. O/n Pahalgam.

  • Day : 2 Pahalgam – Aru

    After breakfast leave for Aru Camp (2414 Mts/ 10 kms by road). Check into the tents. You can go for a small trek around Aru valley. O/n Aru.

  • Day : 3 Aru – Lidderwat

    After breakfast trek to Lidderwat (3050 Mts – Trek: 10 kms). The trail on way is a pleasant one, with easy uphill ascent. Reach Camp and relax. O/n Lidderwat.

  • Day : 4 Lidderwat – Shekwas

    After breakfast Trek to Shekwas (Trek: 6 Kms). The trail is mostly ascending with intermediate flat grounds and one river crossing en route. After passing through pine forests and some intermittent clearings you will reach wide sweeping grasslands that are formed from the merger of many valleys that converge here. The trail climbs swiftly pass a few Gujjar huts to the camping grounds of Shekhwas. O/n Shekwas.

  • Day : 5 Shekhwas – Tarsar

    After early breakfast Trek for Tarsar Lake (Trek: 5 Kms). It is a gentle climb to Tarsar through tall grasses, a few ridges and finally to the shore of the lake. The turquoise blue water is surrounded by lush meadows and snow-capped peaks. This campsite is truly heaven on earth. O/n Tarsar.

  • Day : 6 Tarsar – Sundersar

    Today morning start trek to Sundersar (Trek: 5 Kms). Sundarsar has big flat streches that is a perfect camping spot. O/n Sundersar.

  • Day : 7 Sundersar – Marsar – Sonamasti

    Trek to Marsar Lake (Trek: 8 kms). Enjoy the beautification of Marsar lake and move further to Sonamasti. The Sonamasti valley is a breathtaking piece of nature’s art with small streams, brooks and green pastures. O/n Sonamasti.

  • Day : 8 Sonamasti – Sumbal – Srinagar

    Today start for trek to Sumbal (Trek: 11 Kms/ By road: 2 hrs). Reach sumbal and proceed for Srinagar by vehicle. Check into the hotel. O/n Srinagar.

  • Day : 9 Srinagar

    Today drop at Srinagar airport drop for your final departure. The trek ends here with sweet memories of Hazel Treks N Tours.

✦   Headlamp or small torch with spare batteries

✦   Chocolates and dry fruits as pocket snacks (optional)
✦   The backpack cannot weigh more than 11 kgs. Backpack should have waterproof cover.
✦   Suitcases/trolleys/ bags will not be allowed.

❄ IMPORTANT POINTS

✦   We do not bear any responsibility whatsoever for any loss of life and property, death, damages, injuries, etc. and also any consequences arising out of natural calamities, strikes, breakdowns, accidents, delay in services. No refund would be given against it.
✦   In case of injury or severe illness where upon the tourist has to be admitted to the hospital or sent back to hometown by flight or any other means of transport, then those charges shall be borne by the tourist.
✦   Cash, camera, jewellery, mobile or any expensive items should be carried at your own risk. If stolen or lost, the company shall not be held responsible.
✦   Due to political reasons, heavy rains, snow fall or any other natural calamities if the trek is to be cancelled or dropped, then in that case the co. should not be held responsible for any extra charges. No refund/stay arrangements will be entertained by the company and all other additional charges shall be borne by the Tourist.
✦   No refund shall be payable to you if you leave the trek in mid-way due to whatsoever reason.
